Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of ormaio (the ormaio.com website and app). ormaio is operated by Cairnstone Labs LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By using ormaio or creating an account, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who may use ormaio

You must be at least 13 years old to use ormaio. You are responsible for providing accurate information when you create your account and for keeping your password secure. You are responsible for all activity on your account.

2. Outdoor activities and safety (important)

The trail information, "Where to today?" suggestions, trip plans, "Before you go" tips (start times, water, clothing and restrooms), distances, elevation gain, high points, estimated times, driving times, daylight calculations and weather forecasts on ormaio are approximate. They are calculated automatically from open data sources (OpenStreetMap, the U.S. National Weather Service, Open-Meteo, elevation models) and may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. We do not always know about road, trail and campground closures, current conditions such as snow, avalanches, fire and smoke, or permit and entry requirements.

Hiking, climbing, camping and other outdoor activities carry inherent risks and can result in serious injury or death. Before you go, it is your responsibility to check official sources (the agency that manages the land, such as the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, Washington State Parks or DNR, and WSDOT for pass and road conditions), assess the weather and conditions, bring appropriate gear and make your own decisions based on your experience. ormaio is not a guide, rescue or emergency service. In an emergency, call 911.

3. Your content

The photos, days, notes and reviews you upload belong to you. You grant us the right to store, process and display that content according to the visibility setting you choose, and to use it to the extent needed to run the service (for example, to create small preview copies). This right ends when you delete the content or close your account. Copies in backups are removed in the normal backup cycle.

You confirm that the content you upload belongs to you or that you have the right to share it, and that it does not violate the rights of others.

4. Prohibited uses

• Sharing content that is illegal, harassing, hateful or obscene, or that glorifies violence.
• Sharing other people's private information (for example, a home address) or photos of them without permission.
• Uploading someone else's copyrighted content without permission.
• Sharing misleading or false information, or impersonating someone else.
• Trying to disrupt the service, get around its security, overload it with automated tools or access other people's accounts.
• Encouraging behavior that puts others at risk (for example, entering closed areas or damaging the natural environment).

We may remove content that breaks these rules, and we may suspend or close the account involved. If you see inappropriate content, you can use "Report" to tell us about it, and you can use "Block" to stop seeing a user's content.

5. Our rights

The ormaio name, logo, software and design belong to Cairnstone Labs LLC. These terms do not give you any right to use or copy them. Map and place data are © OpenStreetMap contributors and are made available under the Open Database License (ODbL); photo sources are listed on the Sources page.

6. Challenges and prizes

Monthly challenges are free. Prize draws are open only to legal residents of Washington State who are 18 or older, and each draw is governed by official rules posted before it starts. If those rules conflict with these terms, the official rules apply.

7. Changes to the service and closing your account

We may improve or change ormaio, or remove some features. You can close your account at any time under Settings → Delete my account.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

ormaio is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cairnstone Labs LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of ormaio or the information in it, or for any injury or loss that occurs during outdoor activities. Our total liability to you will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for ormaio in the last 12 months or $100.

9. Indemnification

You agree to hold Cairnstone Labs LLC harmless from any third-party claims arising from your violation of these terms or from content you upload, and to cover any reasonable costs resulting from those claims.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA. The state and federal courts located in King County, Washington, have jurisdiction over any disputes.

11. Changes and contact
